Agencies May Face A Decrease In Funding!

United Way of S.D. & G is still facing a $175,000 shortfall to its campaign. If we do not reach our campaign goal, we may need to make some major cutbacks to our agencies who are already over stressed, says executive director, Karen Turchetto.

This is not something we want to do when the community has worked so hard to ensure the goal is reached. Exceptional support has put our campaign $100,000 over last years total already, says, Turchetto but to ensure our 18 agencies and 32 programs and services get what they need we also need to reach our goal.

It is hard for us at this time of year to keep asking when so many people in the community have already been so generous through the Christmas holidays.

Some community members who normally give have yet to send in their donations. Our volunteers are out there working hard trying to get everything in. If you have not yet made your donation please do so. The campaign will be officially closed in a few days and it would be the biggest story ever in the history of this United Way if we were to reach our goal of $857,000.
