Success By 6
Success By 6 is a community-wide initiative made up of partnering child-focused agencies designed to ensure that early child development is a priority in Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry. The primary focus is to create a community planning structure that harmonizes and supports programming for young children and their families. Success By 6 has a strong link with the development and the operation of the Early Years Centre.
The Upper Canada Learning Centre has partnered with community organizations through Success By 6 to raise awareness and fund new and existing programs and research aimed at young children. By bringing together the public, private, and non-profit sectors, Success By 6 ensures that S.D. & G. is a community committed to children and that all children have an equal chance to be healthy, happy, and prepared to learn when they start school. The Success By 6 initiative is a means to leverage against significant committed provincial Early Years Challenge funds. As well, through its alliance of community partners, Success By 6 proposes to garner not only the resources of the local community but also the resources of the larger provincial and national communities to increase and expand services and programs for young children and their families in S. D. & G.
Vision
The healthy growth and development of young children prenatal to age six offers them the best opportunity to be ready to learn and to achieve success. To that end, society benefits when families and communities meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychological, and social needs of our youngest citizens.
