Canadian Hearing Society

Canadian Hearing Society Founded in 1940, The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) is a non-profit agency with a long history of providing services to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people and their families.

The Ottawa Regional Office serves the counties and communities of Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Stormont-Dundas-Glengary and Renfrew. It offers a wide variety of programs and services to the deaf, deafened and hard of hearing persons in Eastern Ontario.

The Canadian Hearing Society provides a variety of programs to the community including Ontario Interpreter Services, which increases accessibility by providing American Sign Language/English interpreting in a variety of life settings. We also provide counselling, which includes personal and family counselling, assistance with social services, life skills training and general support.
