Schizophrenia is a biological brain disease that affects thinking, perception, mood and behaviour. One out of every hundred people develops schizophrenia and our objectives are to provide family support and education, increase public awareness, advocate for improved services and raise money for research.

We consider ourselves to be an informal family support group, which survives by sharing experiences, problems and information. Numerous medical and related professionals share their expertise and monthly presentations are an invaluable source of information and are most appreciated. In addition, members are most willing to provide brief English or French presentations about schizophrenia to any interested group or organization within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.
